Scandal: Male Costume in Victorian Burlesque
I’ve recently taken an interest in the costume of burlesque, and I’ve noticed an interesting trend in some Victorian images: “scandalous” women liked to dress like men on stage and for the camera.
I’m super fond of this military-style costume.
This police-girl one is pretty awesome, too.
I don’t know what’s with the stick, but I’m digging the top hat.
